Freeport is a small farming town in central Minnesota, about 20 miles west of St. Cloud on Highway 23. The route connects easily to I-94 for Twin Cities access or continues northwest toward Willmar. County Road 2 handles local traffic through the gently rolling prairie landscape. The town's towering 1929 grain elevator remains a landmark visible for miles across the surrounding farmland.
