Freeport is a small county seat in Florida's Panhandle, halfway between Pensacola and Panama City. Most visitors arrive via US 331 from Alabama or US 20 from the coast. The town sits inland from the Emerald Coast beaches, surrounded by pine forests and rolling hills typical of northwest Florida. The 1927 Walton County Courthouse remains the town's architectural centerpiece and active government hub.
