Freeburg is a small Missouri town of 400 people in Osage County, about 30 miles southwest of Jefferson City via Highway 50. The route from St. Louis takes Highway 50 west for 90 miles through farm country, while Kansas City visitors drive Highway 50 east for 120 miles. The town sits in rolling agricultural land typical of central Missouri and still has its original 1888 one-room schoolhouse.
