Fredonia is a small high-desert town of about 1,000 people positioned between Zion and Grand Canyon national parks on US Highway 89A. Most visitors pass through on the scenic route connecting Kanab, Utah (7 miles north) to the Grand Canyon's North Rim, making it a natural rest stop for park-hopping road trips. The town sits at 4,700 feet on the Kaibab Plateau, bringing cooler temperatures and winter snow. Its 1920s brick schoolhouse still anchors Main Street as the community center.
