Franklinville is a small Piedmont town in Randolph County, about 20 miles south of Asheboro via NC Highway 49. The main route from Greensboro uses US 220 south to NC 49, while Charlotte-area drivers take US 74 west to NC 49 north. The original 1920s textile mill building still stands on Main Street as a centerpiece of this community of 1,100 residents.
