Franklin is Louisiana's St. Mary Parish seat, about 80 miles southwest of New Orleans via US 90. The main route runs east-west on Highway 90, with LA 182 offering a scenic bayou alternative. Located in sugar cane country along Bayou Teche, Franklin features several antebellum homes on Main Street, including the 1851 Grevemberg House Museum with original period furnishings.
