Franklin is a small county seat in west Georgia, about 60 miles from Atlanta via I-85 and US 27. The town of under 1,000 sits on rolling Piedmont hills near the Alabama border, connected by US 27 running north-south and State Route 100 east-west. The historic courthouse square centers around the 1964 Heard County Courthouse.
