Frankfort is a small farming town in north-central Kansas, about 20 miles from Manhattan via Highway 9. The town of 726 sits where Highway 99 crosses Highway 9, making it a natural stop for travelers heading between Nebraska and I-70. Most visitors pass through on their way to Kansas State University or while exploring the scenic Flint Hills region. The restored 1920s Frankfort Opera House still shows movies on weekends in its original art deco theater.
