Fountain is a small southeastern Minnesota town of 493 people in Fillmore County's bluff country. Highway 52 connects it north to Rochester (25 miles) and south toward Iowa, while Highway 8 runs east-west through town. Most visitors come from Rochester via Highway 52 for Root River Trail access. The town gets its name from the multiple natural springs that still flow throughout the community.
