Fouke is a small Arkansas town near the Louisiana border, connected by Highway 71 to Texarkana 20 miles south. Most visitors take Interstate 49 from Shreveport or Little Rock. The town gained fame from the 1972 horror film "The Legend of Boggy Creek" about the local Fouke Monster legend.
