Fort Oglethorpe is a small city in northwest Georgia, about 10 miles south of Chattanooga across the Tennessee line. Take I-75 to reach it from Atlanta or Nashville, or US 27 from points south. The city sits at the entrance to Chickamauga Battlefield, where the towering Wilder Monument marks one of the Civil War's bloodiest engagements.
