Fort Denaud is a small riverside community in Hendry County, about 30 miles northeast of Fort Myers via State Road 80. The main route runs east-west through cattle country and citrus groves, connecting Fort Myers to Lake Okeechobee. From I-75, take the SR-80 exit and head east through LaBelle. The old Fort Denaud Bridge over the Caloosahatchee River marks this historic Civil War fort site.
