Forsan is a small west Texas town of 371 people located 15 miles southwest of Big Spring via Highway 33. Most visitors arrive from Interstate 20 through Big Spring, though oil field workers often use the rural highways connecting Midland and San Angelo. The town sits on rolling prairie typical of the Permian Basin region. Forsan got its unusual name from being a waypoint "for San Angelo" on the old mail route between Big Spring and San Angelo.
