Forest Acres is a small residential city completely surrounded by Columbia in central South Carolina. US Highway 1 (Two Notch Road) runs right through town and connects to downtown Columbia 8 miles west, while I-77 and I-20 provide regional access. Columbia Metropolitan Airport is about 12 miles southeast. The city centers around historic Trenholm Plaza, one of South Carolina's first shopping centers from 1955.
