Fordoche is a small river town in Pointe Coupee Parish, about 30 miles northwest of Baton Rouge along the Mississippi. Take Highway 1 north from Baton Rouge or connect via US-190 from Opelousas. The town sits in sugarcane country with fewer than 1,000 residents. Its 1916 St. Augustine Catholic Church features striking Gothic Revival architecture.
