Fonda is a small Mohawk Valley village of about 600 people, located 50 miles northwest of Albany along the historic Route 5 corridor. Drivers access it via Route 5 from Amsterdam or Little Falls, or from I-90 via Exit 28 in Fultonville. The village sits strategically where Route 30A heads north toward the Adirondacks. Its crown jewel is the Fonda Speedway, a legendary dirt track that's been hosting Saturday night stock car races since 1953.
