Follansbee is a small industrial city in West Virginia's Northern Panhandle, right on the Ohio River near the Pennsylvania border. Take US Route 2 along the river or connect from US 22 if coming from Pittsburgh (about 35 miles). The town sits in a narrow valley surrounded by steep Appalachian hills, with the massive Follansbee Steel plant and its towering smokestacks dominating the riverfront since 1902.
