Floyd is a tiny Blue Ridge Mountain town in southwestern Virginia, sitting at 2,400 feet elevation about 45 miles south of Roanoke via US 221. State Route 8 connects it east to I-81 and Christiansburg. The winding mountain roads can be tricky in winter, and cell service is patchy. The Floyd Country Store hosts a famous Friday night jamboree that draws old-time music fans from across the region.
