Florence is a small central Texas town of about 1,000 people, located 35 miles northwest of Austin via Highway 195. Most visitors drive from Austin through Georgetown, then west on Highway 195 for 15 miles through rolling Hill Country terrain. The town preserves its original 1850s street layout with several 19th-century buildings still standing downtown.
