Florence is a small farming town of 317 people in northeastern South Dakota, reached via Highway 20 about 15 miles northwest of Watertown. Most visitors drive from Watertown Regional Airport or take I-29 to the Watertown exit, then head west. The town sits in corn and soybean country with a distinctive red grain elevator from 1925 that's visible for miles across the prairie.
