Florence is a small Mississippi town of about 5,000 people, located 20 miles southwest of Jackson on Highway 49. It's a quick stop for travelers heading between Jackson and the Gulf Coast, with easy access to the Ross Barnett Reservoir area. The restored 1900s railroad depot downtown hosts the annual Railroad Days festival each October.
