Florence is a small Kansas town of about 500 people located 50 miles northeast of Wichita on US Highway 50. The main routes are US-50 east-west and Highway 77 north-south, connecting to Newton, El Dorado, and the Flint Hills region. The restored 1878 Harvey House railroad depot remains the town's most distinctive landmark.
