Flora is a small farming town in south-central Illinois, serving as Clay County's seat with about 4,500 residents. US Route 50 runs east-west through town, while Illinois Route 37 provides north-south access. Interstate 64 lies 20 miles north for longer trips to St. Louis or Evansville. The massive grain elevator complex with its towering concrete silos dominates the skyline and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
