Fletcher is a small mountain city in western North Carolina, located 15 miles south of Asheville along Interstate 26. The main access is via I-26, which connects north to Asheville and south toward South Carolina, with US Highway 25 running through downtown as an alternate route. Popular drives include the quick trip north to Asheville and longer routes for visitors traveling between Atlanta and the North Carolina mountains. Asheville Regional Airport sits just 10 miles away. Fletcher is the birthplace of the Ingles supermarket chain, which started here in 1963.
