Fifty-Six is a tiny Ozark Mountain community along Highway 5 in Stone County, named after the old state highway that once ran through it. Located about 20 miles north of Mountain View and 15 miles south of Calico Rock, it's reached via Highway 5 from either direction, or from Little Rock by taking Highway 65 north to Clinton, then Highway 5 north. The post office displays one of Arkansas's few numerical town names in bold letters.
