Ferdinand is a small Indiana town of about 2,350 people, located 45 miles northeast of Evansville via State Road 162. Take I-64 west from Indianapolis (120 miles) or Louisville (90 miles) to the Dale exit, then SR 231 north and SR 162 west. The town sits in Dubois County's rolling hills and is known for the Monastery Immaculate Conception, a working Benedictine monastery with 1,200 acres that's been operating since 1867.
