Federalsburg is a small Eastern Shore town about 70 miles from Baltimore, reached via US-50 east to US-301, then MD-313 south. Local routes center on MD-313 running north-south and MD-318 going east-west. The area's flat farmland supports corn and soybeans under a humid subtropical climate. The town houses the Eastern Shore's oldest continuously operating movie theater, the Federalsburg Theatre, showing films since 1922.
