Fayetteville is a small Texas town of 335 people located along US Highway 290, about an hour west of Houston. The drive from Houston takes you through rolling countryside where the coastal plains meet the hill country. From Austin, it's about 90 minutes southeast on the same highway. The town sits right at the transition point between two geological regions, where you can actually see the flat coastal plains give way to the limestone hills that define central Texas.
