Farwell is a small central Michigan city of under 1,000 people in Clare County, positioned along the Au Sable River. Highway M-61 runs through town, connecting west to Clare and east toward Standish, while US-127 provides north-south access to larger communities. Most visitors arrive via US-127 from Grand Rapids or Detroit. The town hosts an annual Potato Festival each September with themed foods and entertainment.
