Farmville, a college town in south-central Virginia, centers around Longwood University in Prince Edward County. US Route 15 runs north-south through town, connecting to Charlottesville 60 miles north, while Route 45 heads east-west toward Appomattox. Most visitors arrive via US 360 from Richmond (65 miles) or take I-64 to Route 15 from Norfolk. The restored 1920s Crute Stage theater anchors the historic downtown district.
