Farmington is a small Illinois city of about 2,000 people located 30 miles southwest of Peoria in farm country. Most visitors arrive via Route 116 from Peoria or US 150 from the Quad Cities, with I-74 providing the main long-distance connection about 15 miles north. The town's Main Street preserves several 19th-century buildings, including a restored opera house from its railroad heyday.
