Fanshawe is a small Le Flore County community of 357 people in southeastern Oklahoma near the Arkansas border. US Highway 271 is the main route in, connecting to I-40 at Sallisaw about 45 miles northwest. Most visitors come from Poteau or Fort Smith, Arkansas. The town was named after a Cherokee leader.
