Fallston is a small Cleveland County community of about 600 people in North Carolina's foothills, 45 miles west of Charlotte via US 74. Highway 18 connects it north to Shelby and south toward South Carolina. The rolling terrain sits where the Piedmont meets the Appalachians, with mild winters and humid summers. The historic Fallston Presbyterian Church, built in 1876, remains the community's centerpiece with its classic white clapboard design.
