Falls City is a small Texas town of 541 people in Karnes County, about 45 miles southeast of San Antonio via US 181 and Highway 80. The community sits in rolling countryside where Hill Country meets coastal plains. Originally established in the 1880s, it's named for waterfalls along the San Antonio River that once powered a local gristmill whose stone remnants still mark the historic mill site.
