Faison is a small farming town in southeastern North Carolina, positioned along Highway 117 between Goldsboro and Wilmington. Most visitors arrive via this main north-south route, with Raleigh about 75 miles northwest and the coast roughly an hour's drive southeast. The surrounding area features flat agricultural land typical of the coastal plain, with tobacco and soybean fields stretching toward the horizon. The town still operates an authentic old-fashioned general store with wooden floors and penny candy that's been serving locals for over 80 years.
