Fairwood is a suburban community in Prince George's County, about 15 miles southeast of D.C. Most people get there via the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Route 4 south, or use US-301 from the north. It's popular with military families due to its proximity to Joint Base Andrews. The area features the Darnall's Chance House Museum, an 18th-century plantation house turned historical site.
