Fairview is a small Missouri town of 371 people in Newton County, near the Arkansas border. Highway 59 runs north-south through town, connecting to Neosho and continuing into Arkansas, while Route 86 provides east-west access. Most longer trips require driving north to reach I-44 near Joplin, about 25 miles away. The town sits in the Ozark foothills with rolling agricultural land and scattered woods. Its 1902 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a local landmark.
