Fairmount is a small farming town of 292 people in southeastern North Dakota's Richland County. Take I-29 to Exit 2, then head west on County Road 2 to reach downtown. Highway 11 connects to Wahpeton (12 miles) and Fargo (45 miles). The town's grain elevator towers over the surrounding prairie farmland.
