Fairmount is a Jefferson County community in the Denver metro area, sitting where the plains meet the Rocky Mountain foothills at about 5,400 feet elevation. Highway 36 provides the main access, connecting to Boulder (15 miles north) and Denver (20 miles southeast), while Highway 121 links to Arvada and Westminster. Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport lies just northwest of town. The Clear Creek Trail winds through the area, offering walking and biking paths alongside active BNSF Railway freight lines.
