Fairland is a small town of 1,200 in northeastern Oklahoma's tri-state corner, near Kansas and Missouri. US Highway 69 runs right through town, connecting to Miami 15 minutes south and Kansas to the north, while Highway 137 provides east-west access. The rolling prairie landscape offers wide rural views between the Ozark foothills and Great Plains. Fairland hosts an annual Rattlesnake Derby each spring where contestants compete to catch the most timber rattlesnakes.
