Fairfield is a small farming town in north-central Montana, sitting where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountain Front. Highway 89 runs right through town, connecting it to Great Falls 45 minutes southeast and continuing north toward Canada. The route west on Highway 408 leads to mountain country and Glacier National Park. The town's massive grain elevator towers over the surrounding wheat fields and serves as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
