Fairfax is a small farming town of about 700 people in northwest Missouri, near the Nebraska border. US Highway 59 runs north-south through town, while State Route 111 provides east-west access. Most visitors come from Maryville, 25 miles south, which connects to Interstate 29. The town sits in rolling agricultural country with a continental climate. A restored grain elevator on Main Street still operates during harvest season.
