Fair Play is a small Missouri town of about 600 people located 35 miles northeast of Springfield on Highway 13. The main route runs north from Springfield through Bolivar, taking about 45 minutes. Highway 215 intersects in town, connecting to Humansville and rural areas. The community sits in the scenic Ozark foothills with rolling pastures and woodlands. Fair Play earned its name from a 19th-century promise that all settlers would get "fair play" in land deals.
