Fair Bluff is a small town of 700 people in southeastern North Carolina, near the South Carolina border along the Lumber River. Reach it via US Highway 76, which connects to Whiteville 20 miles east, or NC Highway 904 from Tabor City to the north. Most traffic consists of local trips between neighboring communities, though long-distance visitors arrive via Interstate 95 and US 74. The town is notable for having one of North Carolina's few remaining active Amtrak depots, where the Silver Star stops twice daily.
