Exeter is a small Missouri town of about 800 people in Barry County's Ozark foothills. Located along Highway 76, it's 15 miles northeast of Cassville and 45 miles southwest of Springfield via Highways 37 and 60. The rolling hills and rural setting make it typical Ozark country, with most residents commuting to nearby towns for work. The town's 1902 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of local history.
