Eveleth is a small Iron Range city in northeastern Minnesota, about 60 miles north of Duluth on US Highway 53. Most visitors drive up from the Twin Cities via I-35 to Duluth, then north on US 53 for an hour through forested mining country. The city sits among the rolling hills and open pit mines that define this region, with Highway 37 providing the main east-west connection to neighboring Virginia. The United States Hockey Hall of Fame anchors downtown in a building shaped like a giant hockey stick and puck.
