Evansville is a small Wyoming city of 2,800 people located just southeast of Casper along Interstate 25. The town sits in high desert country at 5,200 feet elevation, where the North Platte River cuts through rolling prairie. I-25 connects it to Casper five miles northwest and continues toward Denver, while US Highway 20/26 provides the main east-west route. You can still see actual Oregon Trail wagon ruts preserved around town where pioneers once crossed this same river valley.
