Eutaw is a small county seat in west-central Alabama's Black Belt region, home to about 2,800 people along the Tombigbee River. Highway 43 runs right through town, connecting north to Tuscaloosa (45 miles) and south toward Mobile, while Highway 14 heads east to Selma. Most visitors arrive via I-20 to Highway 43 south from Birmingham, about 75 miles total. The 1869 Greene County Courthouse dominates the town square with its Second Empire architecture and prominent clock tower.
