Eunice sits in southeastern New Mexico's oil country, just 10 miles from Texas. US Highway 62 provides the main east-west route, connecting to Hobbs 15 miles east, while State Road 18 runs north-south through town toward Jal and Texas. The semi-arid climate and flat terrain make for easy driving year-round. The town features a restored 1920s wooden oil derrick at the community center that commemorates the petroleum boom that built this Permian Basin community.
