Eufaula sits on Oklahoma's largest lake in the southeastern part of the state, about 90 miles south of Tulsa via US Highway 69. This small county seat of 2,800 connects to regional destinations through Highway 9, which intersects US 69 downtown. The humid subtropical climate makes it popular for year-round fishing and boating. The Oklahoma State Fish Hatchery here has been stocking the state's waters since 1928.
